Date: Monday, January 23, 2012J.C. Penney Co. Inc. plans to cut thousands of jobs, according to a report by the New York Post.
The Plano, Texas-based department store (NYSE:JCP) chain is cutting positions that involve re-tagging and putting up temporary signs, the Post said. The layoffs are expected to hit all 1,200 U.S. stores. It has about 15 locations in the Philadelphia area, according to its website.
