Netherlands To Double Places For Refugees
The Netherlands will double the number of beds and shelters for tens of thousands of asylum-seekers in a deal with local authorities, AFP reported. Some 24,000 places will be made available to people who have already been granted residence in the country, officials said on Friday.Another 42,500 spaces will be created for new asylum-seekers. Some 46,000 people are already being housed in shelters in the Netherlands. A total of about 60,000 refugees are expected to have arrived in the country by the end of the year.
